The paper explained the European principles of public administration and provides an overview of the concept of public administration, local and regional governments, state administration in Croatia, European administrative space and the rights of the European Union, European policies and Europeanization and the adjustment of Croatian public administration to European standards. He explained that Croatia is not enough any more reform is needed modernization of the State and of public administration. Under the modernization of public administration mean its improvement by adopting European standards and experience of public administration. Croatian public administration has not even reached the standards maintained, effective, documented, fair, competent, professional public administration, it is necessary to implement reforms in order to correct certain deficiencies. The EU accession process is necessary in the public administration to incorporate the fundamental European principles and standards and ensure their compliance in order to improve the quality of public administration and its staff and thus increase citizens' satisfaction with the work of the public administration.
