This paper deals with the area of archival science and with the mode of action at the archives in Republic of Croatia. Today, an archives are very important because they operate on the whole territory of country and the archival science doesn't deal just with their institutions, it deals with archives material more than ever because that material is of public interest to the Republic of Croatia and that is no matter from which area it came from. Nowdays, the archives material don't have just a historical significance, but they have cultural, scientific and social significance too. Because of that, the activity of arhcival science was expanded their views at daily life of the community. Considering the expanded activity of archives and this new and digital way of work and treatment with archival material, it has led to the new cognitions and professional development of archivists. So this paper, in essence, considering the legal frame which regulates the activity of archives in Republic of Croatia and with detailed regulation it prescribes an archival terms and methods of treatment with archival metarial that are grading, excreting, evaluating, selecting and storing in the prescribed manner. The paper is focused on the treatment with archival metarial and his availability for each individual through the digital and online way because of development of technology.
