From the impossibility of women participating in competitions, the position of women in sports activities has improved to the level of free involvement of women in all sports available to men. The evolution of women's sports also depended on the parts of the world and the influence of religion. Men preceded participation in sports because of their physical characteristics, and for women, the struggle to gain equality with men followed. With the development of civilization, the function of sport has changed, as it has become a professional activity from recreational activities. The Olympic Games, as one of the most important sports events for women, only became available in 1900, and since then the situation of women in sports has been progressing positively. Over the years, the number of available sports has increased, and only since 2012 have women had the right to participate in all sports that are on the Olympic program. The development of women's sports is influenced by religion, because in the Muslim world women are subject to greater restrictions. In addition to wearing the hijab, the patriarchal ideology greatly affects the development of women's sports. However, the Women's Sports Foundation has been working since 1974 to improve the quality of life of women in sports activities.
