This paper presents and deals with one of the basic common assets of the Republic of Croatia, with the aim of determining what is covered by the maritime good in the Republic of Croatia ,what good it is considered, what legal protection it enjoys, how it is managed and finally what are the shortcomings. The focus was to present a broader picture of our valuable resource, which is considered a public good of general interest that has always been of great importance to the Republic of Croatia, and which still suffers from the consequences of past legal irregularities. In the Republic of Croatia ,the maritime domain is managed by the state and is not capable of being the object of anyone's real rights. The paper first explains the definition of maritime domain ,and determines its legal nature, its meaning in theory and practice,and gives a brief historical overview of the development of maritime domain. Then, attention is paid to the records of the maritime domain and the manner of determining the borders. The problems of the sea coast are briefly analyzed and the way of management, protection, control over the maritime domain and its use is presented. Finally, a brief overview of the economic exploitation of maritime property, the problem of pollution is given, and a swot analysis of this legal institute and the implemented Delicromar project are mentioned.
