In this final paper persons who contributed to the creation of the European Union are listed and there is explains the process of the Union's accession to the Convention. The institutions of the European Union are listed below and it is explained what human rights are. Furthermore, it states what are the rights of the citizens of the European Union and what is the role of the Council of Europe in their implementation and protection. The second part of this paper states which rights arise by the Convention and which one arise from the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Furthermore, the origin and role of the European Court of Human Rights are explained, and the ways in which an application may be made to initiate proceedings. This paper also explains the concept of the European Ombudsman and his role in the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms. Human rights are something what is provided to every human being by his birth, however throughout history to the present day, we are witnessing the violation of some of the rights guaranteed to man. We are currently going through a situation related to the emergence of a new coronavirus where we are also witnessing a violation of some of the human rights such as restrictions on movement and such. So, at the end of this paper, the current situation related to coronavirus and human rights is mentioned.
