The paper presents the nature of the problem of increasing number of divorces and analyzes the many feelings of the child that arise due to the divorce of his parents as well as the phases that child will pass during the process of adjustment to the new situation. Likewise, factors that protect the child from the negative consequences of divorce are analyzed, but also risk factors that create a potential danger for the development of further problems. Alieanation of child often occurs when child constantly labels one parent negatively while giving the other parent only positive characteristics. It is important that parents recognize the child's alienation in time and react appropriately. Children will ask themselves a number of questions to which they will not have answers themselves, and parents are the ones who should give them answers in advance to reduce stress and worries about their future. Also, in the process of adjustment, parents are the most important source of help to children and problems and doubts should be successfully resolved, but when this is not possible, it is necessary to seek the help of experts who will work to establish better family relationships and sometimes it is easier to child to present problems to an expert than to parents. The wider community, such as school and peers, is very important source of support for the child, and teachers should be able to identify when the child's behavior deviates from normal and conduct a conversation with him and, if necessary, parents in order to help.
