This paper describes state administration, starting with it's development at the beginning of the 17th century in Europe up until today. During that period many changes were made, yet the most important change came into effect with Republic Croatia independence declaration during the 90's of the last century. Since state administration system is regulating large number of laws, some of them, like for example Lex generali responsible for state administration system of Republic Croatia is Act on the state administration system, but besides it other acts are also being applied like Constitution of the Republic Croatia, Act on the Government of Republic Croatia, Law on local and regional self government, Civil servants act, General Administrative Procedure Act and Delegated Legislation, like statue of Government of the Republic Croatia and many other regulations which are issued by the ministries. To a lesser extent Administrative Disputes Act and the Constitutional act on the court of Republic Croatia are also being applied. This assessment is going to thoroughly elaborate state administration work, officials which are doing jobs within state administration bodies therefore supervision over Croatian state administration. We are also going to deal with organization of state administration bodies, like ministries, organization of state administration, central state office and county offices of state administration and all jobs and other important questions related to them. Furthermore, we are going to mention principles within state administration bodies, mutual relationships of officials and aswell relationships of officials towards citizens and end of civil service.
