The paper deals with the Criminal Act Enticement of Children for Satisfaction of Sexual Needs or grooming defined by The Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse of 2007 and the Directive 2011/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of Europe 2011 on combating the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children and child pornography, as intentional act of adults who use ICT arranging a meeting with the child with the intention of participating in sexual activity with a child and production of child pornography, provided that an adult takes concrete measures for the realization of the meeting. The provisions of this Convention have been implemented in Croatian legislation and in Article 161. of the Criminal Code as a criminal offense named Enticement of Children for Satisfaction of Sexual Needs. The paper also reviews the historical aspect on the protection of sexual integrity and timidity of children and gives a brief overview of significant international standards in this area that are considered normative for criminal justice. Furthermore, this paper provides a detailed overview of relevant provisions in the Croatian Criminal Justice System that will contribute to the protection of children. In the end this paper mentions the well-known case named Alexandra Man, in which all modes of criminal offense are merged.
