This graduate thesis deals primarily with the role that police has within administrative law. However, in order to understand its role, it is important to look at the emergence of administrative law and police, which used to serve as a represive apparatus, and the citizens were only the object over which it exercised its power. It took many years to bring about the emergence of the police we know today, whose main purpose is to serve the citizens. Here it is verz important to mention theprinciples that represent the fundamental values of each society and which officials have to adhere to in the performance of state administration. Of great importance is the existence of the principle of legality, which implies that police powers can be carried out solely under the statutory conditions. In addition, there are other principles that are contained in the General Administrative Procedure act and the Law on Administrative Disputes. When it comes to the action of police within administrative law, it is about those tasks that deal with a certain administrative matter, that is, when police bodies directly apply administrative regulations in the field of internal affairs to concrete social relationships by authoritative decision.making.. These are the activities of issuing a personal ID card, a passport, a registration or a residence permit or residence, etc. Activities that contain powers to undertake measures and actions, as well as performing substantive procedures for performing criminal activity are based on the provisions of the Criminal Procedure act the subject of this work (e.g. search for perpetrators of criminal offenses, treatment with arrested and detainees…).
