The paper analyzes the contract on the carriage of goods with special reference to INCOTERMS clauses. The contract on the carriage of goods is presented and explained in more detail through its structure and key ingredients that make it valid. Its method of conclusion, place and time are important for its realization and are explained in more detail through legal regulations, such as the Law on Obligations and others. The subjects, as bearers of their roles through this contract, enable the contractual relations to be fulfilled and executed. In case of non-fulfillment of contractual obligations, the subjects may be liable for the damages caused, which they must also compensate. If the sides have fulfilled their obligations and tasks from the contract, this results in a positive outcome, which is its fulfillment. Given that there are types of transportation different rules apply to the contract in the mentioned types of transport. In our legal system, there are a number of valid legal sources that contain provisions for each type of transport and for its successful execution. Within each type of transport, INCOTERMS clauses or the Official International Principles of the International Chamber of Commerce, which ensure the most efficient transport of goods, apply. In this way, regardless of the type of transport, the relationship, the quantity and the quality of the goods, they try to better present their meanings to the customers in the world of trade in goods. Great emphasis is placed on the four groups of INCOTERMS clauses, namely the E, F, C and D groups. Each of them interprets the rules for transporting goods in each type of transport. Goods in transport are exposed to numerous risks, so it is necessary to adequately secure them and prevent possible harmful consequences that lead to large losses. The essence of this work was to represent how the contract on the carriage of goods is achieved in every type of transport, including the application of INCOTERMS clauses, which are a key part of that contract, but also in trade in general.
