Abstract
Proglašenje pandemije koronavirusa 2019. godine (COVID-19) donijelo je značajne promjene u svakodnevnom životu ljudi u zemljama pogođenima ovom krizom. Većina zemalja uvela je izvanredna stanja koja su obuhvatila ograničenje kretanja, javnih okupljanja, društvenih događanja te provedbu strogih preventivnih mjera poput izolacije, socijalnog distanciranja i nošenja zaštitne opreme. Ova iznenadna situacija rezultirala je mnogobrojnim promjenama dotadašnjeg života, s tada objavljivanim različitim informacijama koje su dolazile do široke populacije, često kontradiktornih i nedosljednih, što dodatno komplicira već stresnu situaciju. Sve ove promjene imaju značajan utjecaj na živote odraslih i djece, što se može odraziti na njihovo tjelesno i mentalno zdravlje. Djeca i mladi su posebno ranjiva skupina u ovakvim kriznim i iznenadnim situacijama. Iako istraživanja pokazuju da djeca i adolescenti često pokazuju blaže simptome COVID-19 u usporedbi s odraslima, njihova ranjivost dolazi do izražaja u većoj sklonosti razvoju ozbiljnih psihičkih posljedica. Psihički problemi kod djece mogu proizaći iz nemogućnosti adekvatnog razumijevanja situacije, straha, izolacije od vršnjaka, promjena u psihičkom stanju roditelja te veće osjetljivosti na zlostavljanje i zanemarivanje. Sustavne promjene u društvu, poput zatvaranja škola ili smanjenja dostupnosti zdravstvenih i psihosocijalnih usluga, dodatno otežavaju situaciju, posebno za djecu s već postojećim psihičkim ili neurorazvojnim poremećajima te djecu iz ranjivih i manjinskih skupina. Kako bismo spriječili štetne posljedice po zdravlje djece, važno je donijeti preporuke usmjerene na podršku djeci i roditeljima u prevladavanju ove krize.
Abstract (english)
The declaration of the 2019 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has brought significant changes in the daily lives of people in the countries affected by this crisis. Most countries have introduced states of emergency that include movement restrictions, travel bans and the implementation of strict preventive measures such as isolation, social distancing and wearing protective equipment. This sudden situation has caused a flood of information, often contradictory and inconsistent, which further complicates an already stressful situation. All these changes have a significant impact on the lives of adults and children, which can affect their physical and mental health. Children are a particularly vulnerable group in such crisis situations. Although research shows that children and adolescents often show milder symptoms of COVID-19 compared to adults, their vulnerability is expressed in a greater tendency to develop serious psychological consequences. Mental problems in children can arise from the inability to adequately understand the situation, fear, isolation from peers, changes in the mental state of parents and greater sensitivity to abuse and neglect. Systemic changes in society, such as closing schools or reducing the availability of health and psychosocial services, further complicate the situation, especially for children with pre-existing mental or neurodevelopmental disorders and children from vulnerable and minority groups. In order to prevent harmful consequences for children's health, it is important to make recommendations aimed at supporting children and parents in overcoming this crisis.
