The inhabitants of a country are the best indicator of the success of a particular public administration. Citizens have the right to various services, material gain, care, education and they achieve their rights through public administration. Public administration is managed by people, experts who directly implement laws and inform citizens of their legal rights. The procedure that citizens initiate with the bodies of a public institution is called - administrative procedure. The administrative procedure is initiated at the request of the client. Administrative procedures can last a day, a week, and often administrative procedures last for months. Citizens who initiate an administrative procedure expect a positive end result from the institution, but what if something goes wrong and they receive a negative opinion on their request or believe that some legal right has been rejected for them. In order to prevent and reduce such cases to a minimum, in administration is carried out supervision. Administration supervision implies control and revision of general and individual acts in order to determine compliance with the law. The purpose of administrative supervision is to satisfy both sides of the administrative procedure in the process itself, while at the same time respecting the law and its principles. There are several types of supervision and inspections. Public administration supervision in Croatia and Slovenia is carried out by administrative inspectors. Administrative inspectors are independent in their work and act according to their official duties or according to citizens' petitions. Based on all of the above, it can be concluded that monitoring legality in the work of public administration and its users is an extremely important social job that brings, perhaps not so noticeable, but very important benefits that generate overall social improvement in the work of public administration.
