Abstract
Osnovni cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati odnosa empatije i korištenja društvene mreže TikTok te ispitati razliku s obzirom na vrijeme provedeno na mrežama te spolu. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 349 sudionika između 18. i 30. godine života s područja Osječko-baranjske županije. Za prikupljanje podataka upotrijebljeni su: Kratka verzija kvocijenta empatije (Wertag i Hanzec, 2016) te Facebookova ljestvica intenziteta (FBI; Ellison i sur. 2007). Suprotno očekivanjima, rezultati su pokazali da ne postoji statistički značajna povezanost u odnosu empatije i korištenja TikTok-a te da ne postoji razlikau empatiji s obzirom na vrijeme provedenom na TikToku. No, sukladno postavljenoj hipotezi korelacija između korištenja, odnosno emocionalne povezanosti s TikTok-om i empatije kod djevojaka bila je veća nego kod mladića.
Abstract (english)
The main goal of the research was to examine the relationship between empathy and the use of the social network TikTok, and to examine the difference in terms of time spent on the networks and gender. 349 participants between the ages of 18 and 30 from Osijek-Baranja County took part in the research. The short version of the empathy quotient (Wertag and Hanzec, 2016) and the Facebook intensity scale (FBI; Ellison et al. 2007) were used to collect data. In line with expectations, the results showed that there is no statistically significant relationship between empathy and the use of TikTok and that there is no difference in empathy with regard to the time spent on TikTok. However, in accordance with the hypothesis, the correlation between the use, that is, the emotional connection with TikTok, and empathy in girls was higher than in boys.
