The purpose of this paper is to show the relevance of feminism among young people. The current fourth wave of feminism uses social networks to highlight women's problems that still need to be worked on. Young people spend most of their time on social networks, which saturates them with information on the basis of which they draw conclusions. This is how they encounter topics such as sexism or the objectification of women that feminism wants to prevent. In order to understand feminism and its goals, this paper contains the historical aspect of feminism and the engagement of young people in the world and in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The later chapters of the paper will include numerous studies that examine the opinion of young people about feminism. Research has shown that girls generally do not call themselves feminists, and most young men consider feminism to be a movement which prefers rights of women over men. The last chapter of the paper contains the report of the ombudsman for gender equality, which showed that women and girls are more often victims of gender-based violence, sexual harassment and human trafficking. Social work, which helps people in need, plays a key role in here. Creating cooperation with the user, involving women in formal and informal education and raising awareness of gender equality through workshops are possible ideas that social workers can do for gender equality. Therefore, the last chapter of the work focuses on social work and feminism, two areas initiated by women, which are intended for all those who do not have equal opportunities and chances in society to realize their potential.
