Abstract
Državljanstvo kao izraz suvereniteta Republike Hrvatske i kao bitna pravna pretpostavka za ostvarivanje subjektivnih prava, kao i načini njegova stjecanja i prestanka uređena su Zakonom o hrvatskom državljanstvu. U radu će pozornost biti na posljednjim izmjenama i dopunama Zakona o hrvatskom državljanstvu iz 2019., koje su na snazi od 1. siječnja 2020. Promatrat ćemo svrhu zakonodavca u kontekstu donesenih promjena u sveziolakšavajućeg postupka lakšeg stjecanja hrvatskog državljanstva,... More posebice Hrvatima koji žive izvan granica Republike Hrvatske. Naime, ono što se zakonskim promjenama namjerava postići je poboljšana demografska slika Republike Hrvatske. Citizenship as an expression of the sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia and as an important legal precondition for the exercise of subjective rights, as well as the ways of its acquisition and termination are regulated by the Croatian Citizenship Act. The paper will focus on the latest amendments to the Croatian Citizenship Act from 2019, which entered into force on January 1, 2020. More the facilitating of the process of acquisition Croatian citizenship especially for Croats living outside the borders of the Republic of Croatia.
