Abstract	The purpose of this Master Paper is to examine the main goals of the European Green Deal and its implications on the Republic of Croatia's energy transition. The paper describes the development of the European Green Deal, its legal elements, and the European Commission's main policy proposals. The paper also looks at the crucial difficulties that the Green Deal is currently dealing with, as well as its long-term sustainability in the context of a global COVID-19 pandemic. Lastly, the Croatian National Energy Climate Plan for the period 2021-2030 is used to indicate how Croatia is progressing with its energy transition and how it will fulfil the EU's suggested targets.
