Subject of this thesis covers historical development od office managemant, starting from early beginnings of trade which can be bound to office, all the way to the contemporary computerized and automatizated office managment. Computerization and automatization represent a big importance in the development of the office management. This development can be seen in the use of the computer. Until the first appearance of a computer, it was necessary to arrange more time in doing everyday office jobs. Throughout the terms that are defined with the Statut of the office management and principles (principle of legality and accuracy, principle of expediency, principle of simplicity, transparency and uniformity, principle of economic, principle of politeness) of the office management, office jobs that are in relation with the office management are being resolved in an adequate and suitable way. The evolving of computerization and automatization leads us to establishment of systems with the goal of modernization, simplification and speeding up communication between the citizen and the public sector. One of the systems like that is the e-Citizen system that is coordinated by the Ministry of Administration of Republic of Croatia, and is funded by the Ministry of Finance. Alongside them, a lot of other institutions are involved, and the main goal is the easy availability of information from everywhere, at any time, on any device.
