Abstract
This paper deals with trafficking in human beings between vulnerable groups as victim and traffickers as perpetuators of this type of organized crime. It also elaborates different types and forms of trafficking in human beings and states the main causes of this growing problem. Through the paper it will be revealed how each form of exploitation affects different victims and gives the review of the situation in the world and the situation in the Republic of Croatia, problems of protecting the victims and ultimately ending trafficking in human beings on a global level and consequently in the Republic of Croatia. Further, the legislation of the Republic of Croatia will be elaborated together with the European legislation that governs this matter. At the end, main problems of trafficking in human being and consequences that it has on people around the world will be highlighted and possible solutions for ending this devastating phenomenon of modern day slavery will be given.
