Constitutional law is a branc of law that studies the constitution as the highest peace act of a particular state. The Constitution of the Republic of Croatia was adopted after it departed from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and thus created the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia. The Constitutional Court, along with many other jurisdictions, assesses the constitutionality of laws and regulations and subordinate acts, ie verifies and controls whether laws and regulations are compiled in accordance with the Constitution. This legal institution makes decisions and submits reports to the Croatian Parliament and the Government, and it cares about the Constitutional Court's bodies. In order for the Constitutional Court to function, it is composed of constitutional judges who have to go through the candidacy and the election process and must not participate in the work of any political party. Therefore, within this diploma work, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia will focus on the Constitution and the Constitutional Court, the Constitutional Court's competencies and bodies, Constitutional Court acts, Constitutional Court Disputes, the political influence of the Constitutional Court and the choice of , the mandate and constraints of constitutional judges.
