Osim prednosti, društvene mreže imaju i nedostatke. |
Abstract (english) | Social influence, as one of the more significant phenomena in social psychology, refers to changes in an individual's attitudes, opinions, and judgments as a result of exposure to the attitudes, opinions, and judgments of others. The key forms of social influence are divided into compliance and minority influence, while the reactions to social influence include obedience to authority and conformity. Persuasion falls under the concept of social influence and involves the process in which a person is convinced to change their attitudes or behavior through communication while maintaining the freedom of choice. Attitudes are key components of the persuasion process, as they include elements of opinion and emotion, and are expressed as a predisposition to react in a certain way to an object or group. Emotions are a crucial aspect of persuasion because they can affect how the received message is processed. Today, social media is a significant part of an individual's life, offering numerous advantages and disadvantages. One major advantage is the ability to quickly communicate with a large number of people, relax through various videos, learn new skills, and use it for educational or humanitarian purposes by promoting causes and help on personal profiles. A major influence on social media comes from so-called influencers, who affect other people's decisions through their actions. While social media offers many benefits, its drawbacks are much more serious. Its impact on mental health, such as the potential for anxiety and depression, distorted body image and self-perception through social comparison, lack of self-esteem, poor sleep quality, problems in romantic relationships, all due to the fear of missing out on content that is distributed on these platforms, are just some of the significant disadvantages that are very difficult to address. In the context of the digital world, there can also be social influences leading to unfavorable outcomes for the individual being influenced, making it important to consider resistance to social influence, such as motives related to threats to freedom, suspicion of deception, and resistance to change. In order for a person to resist social influence, it is necessary to develop a series of defensive actions, such as learning to recognize manipulative tactics, coupled with a healthy dose of skepticism that should always be present. |
