Abstract
U ovom radu predstavljen je položaj osoba s duševnim smetnjama s osvrtom na povijesna razdoblja i naglaskom na prepreke i ograničenja u društvu s kojima se navedene osobe susreću u današnje vrijeme. Autorica u radu objašnjava koncepte mentalnog zdravlja i duševnih smetnji te razlaže pojedine rizične i zaštitne čimbenike koji imaju značajan utjecaj na mentalno zdravlje. U radu je dan osvrt na stanje i perspektivu današnjice u svijetu i Republici Hrvatskoj kada je u pitanju rasprostranjenost mentalnih poremećaja i poteškoća s mentalnim zdravljem. Autorica posebno ističe i objašnjava probleme stigmatizacije, diskriminacije, socijalne isključenosti, siromaštva, nezaposlenosti i ograničenja pri zapošljavanju, kao jednih od najistaknutijih s kojima se susreću osobe s duševnim smetnjama. Ovaj rad posvećen je i oblicima, propisima te ustavnopravnim mehanizmima zaštite osoba s duševnim smetnjama kao i neizostavnoj ulozi socijalnog rada u zaštiti i radu s osobama s duševnim smetnjama.
Abstract (english)
This paper presents the status of people with mental disorders, reflecting on historical periods and emphasizing the barriers and limitations they face in society today. The author explains the concepts of mental health and mental disorders and analyzes the specific risk and protective factors that significantly influence mental health. The paper provides an overview of the current state and perspectives on the prevalence of mental disorders and mental health problems worldwide and in the Republic of Croatia. The author particularly highlights and explains the issues of stigmatization, discrimination, social exclusion, poverty, unemployment, and employment limitations, as some of the most prominent challenges faced by individuals with mental disorders. This paper also addresses the forms, regulations, and constitutional mechanisms for the protection of people with mental disorders, as well as the indispensable role of social work in the protection and support of people with mental disorders.
