Electronic office business is one of the main factors in the functioning of public administration. The Republic of Croatia went through a long period during which it perfected office business processes and implemented rules that regulate the processing of documents, data transfer, separation of offices outside of work premises and staff education. The main task of public authorities is to adapt business in such a way as to reduce paper work as much as possible, and to introduce IT systems that will speed up and facilitate the entire process and lead to a reduction in data processing costs. The aim of this work is to learn more about the concept of electronic office operations, the implementation of the e-Office and e-Citizens systems, the adaptation and implementation of the Regulation on office operations, the introduction of e-signatures and unique identifiers. Each of the concepts will be treated separately in order to get an overall picture of the progress of the Republic of Croatia over the years and standardization according to European norms. The application of electronic office operations has spread to all aspects of everyday life, therefore, the paper analyzes the transition of analog files to digital ones, as well as the obligation to establish an information system for office operations that is in accordance with the Regulation. The regulation from July 2021 introduces the obligation to conduct official correspondence primarily electronically, therefore it also represents one of the biggest reforms of state and public administration to date.
