The theme of this paper is domestic violence. Domestic violence is a social phenomenon as old as society alone, and despite all the knowledge of violence, legal regulation, the work of authorities, education and awareness-raising actions about domestic violence, it continues to affect women, children, the elderly, and also men. This paper defines the forms of violence (psychological, physical, sexual violence, economic abuse and neglect), victims of violence (women, children and the elderly) and the consequences of violence. The basic laws that define the issue of domestic violence have also been analyzed (Family Law, Family Protection Law and Criminal Law). Unfortunately, there is no clear boundary to the criminal and misdemeanor persecution of perpetrators of domestic violence, which further aggravates the problem itself. Finally, the main regulations of the Protocol on the Procedure in occurance of Domestic Violence have been established and situations in practice have further been analyzed, together with the problems encountered by victims of violence as well as the official persons involved in the case.
