Abstract
Predmet diplomskog rada će biti institucije Europske unije. U daljnje tekstu biti će nabrojane sve institucije Europske unije, njihove nadležnosti, sastav i koja je njihova uloga u odnosu na države članice. Institucije Europske unije su : Europski parlament, Europsko vijeće, Vijeće ministara, Europska Komisija, Sud Europske unije, Europska središnja banka i Revizorski sud. Osim glavnih institucija biti će nabrojane i objašnjene institucije koje imaju savjetodavnu ulogu kao što su Europski gospodarski i socijalni odbor i Odbor regija. Posebno će biti objašnjena institucija Europskog parlamenta u čija struktura, nadležnosti i sastav će se detaljnije obrađivati. Europski parlament je zakonodavno i predstavničko tijelo Europske unije, čije zastupnike biraju glasači iz država članica na izravnim izborima svakih pet godina. Europski parlament ima zakonodavne, nadzorne i proračunske ovlasti koje će se u radu objasniti. Također i tijela od kojih je sastavljen Europski parlament će se objasniti i navesti koja je njihova uloga i zašto su važni u funkcioniranju Parlamenta.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this paper is the institutional system of the European Union. In this paper we will analyse: responsibilities of the EU institutions, their composition and their role in relation to the Member States. EU institutions are : the European Parliament, European Council, Council of the European Union European Commission, Court of Justice of the European Union, European Central Bank and the Court of Auditors. In addition this paper will focus on the European Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions. There is a special emphasis on the European Parliament’s structure, jurisdiction and composition. The European Parliament is legislative and representative body of the European Union. Members of the European Parliament (MeP) are elected by citizens voters from Member States on direct elections every five years. The European Parliament has legislative, supervisory and budgetary powers.
