Abstract
Mentalno je zdravlje ključan i neizostavan kriterij cjelokupnog zdravlja i dobrobiti pojedinca, a mentalni poremećaji nepovoljno utječu na razne aspekte funkcioniranja čovjeka poput kognitivnog i emocionalnog stanja, promjena i kontrole nad ponašanjem te poteškoća u socijalnom, obiteljskom i radnom okruženju. Narušeno mentalno zdravlje i pojava mentalnih poremećaja postaje sve veći problem u svijetu pa se tako u svakom trenutku oko 450 milijuna ljudi bori s nekim poremećajem. Osobe s mentalnim poremećajima suočavaju se i sa stigmatizacijom te socijalnom isključenosti. U završnom radu definirati će se pojmovi mentalnog zdravlja i mentalnih poremećaja, prikazati mogući uzroci mentalnih poremećaja te kolika je njihova rasprostranjenost u svijetu i u Hrvatskoj i na koji je način socijalni rad pronašao mjesto u radu s osobama s mentalnim poremećajima. Uloga se socijalnog radnika identificirala na razini psihijatrije i socijalne psihijatrije, rane intervencije, zapošljavanja te primjene socioterapije i psihosocijalnih intervencija, u svrhu podizanja kvalitete života osoba s mentalnim poremećajima te njihove rehabilitacije i liječenja. Mentalni poremećaji postaju sve rasprostranjeniji i ozbiljniji problem zbog kojeg će potreba za vještinama socijalnih radnika u budućnosti postajati sve veća.
Abstract (english)
Mental health is a key and indispensable criterion for the overall health and well-being of an individual, and mental disorders negatively affect various aspects of human functioning, such as cognitive and emotional state, changes and control over behavior, and difficulties in the social, family and work environment. Impaired mental health and the appearance of mental disorders is becoming a growing problem in the world, so at any given moment, around 450 million people struggle with some kind of disorder. People with mental disorders also face stigmatization and social exclusion. In the final paper, the concepts of mental health and mental disorders will be defined, the possible causes of mental disorders and their prevalence in the world and in Croatia will be shown, and how social work has found its place in working with people with mental disorders. The role of the social worker was identified at the level of psychiatry and social psychiatry, early intervention, employment and the application of sociotherapy and psychosocial interventions, in order to improve the quality of life of people with mental disorders and their rehabilitation and treatment. Mental disorders are becoming an increasingly widespread and serious problem, due to which the need for the skills of social workers will increase in the future.
