Abstract
Sva ljudska bića rađaju se slobodna i jednaka. Sva ljudska bića uživaju ljudska prava, ali u praksi to nije uvijek tako. Neke marginalizirane skupine, poput LGBTQIA+ zajednice, svakodnevno doživljavaju kršenje njihovih ljudskih prava. U ovom radu opisat će se prava čovjeka, spektar seksualnosti i rodnog identiteta, objasnit će se osnovni pojmovi (tko su to pripadnici LGBTQIA+ zajednice), navest će se kako međunarodni dokumenti štite prava LGBTQIA+ osoba, kako hrvatsko zakonodavstvo štiti, ali ponekad i krši prava LGBTQIA+ zajednice, te koja su prava homoseksualnih i transrodnih osoba, u svijetu i u Hrvatskoj. Ovaj rad će se također osvrnuti na suvremene izazove s kojima se susreću queer osobe, poput homofobije i negativnih stavova društva, te kako izgledaju povorke ponosa u svijetu, a kako na Balkanu. Za kraj će biti istaknuta važnost i uloga socijalnih radnika u zagovaranju i promociji ljudskih prava i prava LGBTQIA+ zajednice.
Abstract (english)
All human beings are born free and equal. All human beings enjoy human rights, but that is not always the case in practice. Some marginalized groups, such as the LGBTQIA+ community, experience violations of their human rights on a daily basis. This paper will describe human rights, the spectrum of sexuality and gender identity, explain the basic concepts (who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community), state how international documents protect the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, how Croatian legislation protects, but also sometimes violates the rights of the LGBTQIA+ communities, and what are the rights of homosexual and transgender people, around the world and in Croatia. This paper will also look at the contemporary challenges faced by queer people, such as homophobia and negative attitudes of society, and what pride parades look like around the world and in the Balkans. Finally, the importance and role of social workers in advocating and promoting human and LGBTQIA+ community rights will be emphasized.
