Abstract
Obitelj kao temeljna društvena skupina predstavlja sigurno prirodno okruženje u kojem se zadovoljavaju djetetove potrebe te predstavlja mjesto na kojem se ono razvija i ostvaruje svoj potencijal. U slučajevima kada postoje disfunkcije unutar obitelji, djetetov razvoj je ugrožen i potrebno je intervenirati kako bi se djetetu pravovremeno omogućila odgovarajuća skrb. U nefunkcionalnom okruženju dijete je u riziku za razvoj problema u ponašanju te problema mentalnog zdravlja što se može negativno odraziti na kasniji djetetov život. Izdvajanjem iz obitelji dijete se premješta u alternativnu skrb dok se ne ostvare uvjeti za povratak u primarno obiteljsko okruženje ili se pak priprema za drugi trajni oblik skrbi. Sve poduzete mjere obiteljsko-pravne zaštite moraju biti u skladu s najboljim interesom djeteta. Jednom kada dijete uđe u sustav alternativne skrbi potrebno je uložiti napore da iz njega što prije izađe, a ukoliko se ondje zadrži utoliko je važno kvalitetno ga pripremiti za izlazak.
Abstract (english)
Family, as the primary social group, represents both a safe natural environment in which a child's needs are met and a place where the child develops and fulfils its potential. In cases where families are plagued by dysfunctions, the child's development is endangered and, therefore, a timely intervention is necessary in order for the child to receive proper care. In a nonfunctional environment, the child is at risk of developing behavioral issues, as well as mental health problems, which can have a negative impact on the child's life in the future. After being separated from its family, the child is placed into alternative care, where it stays until the requirements for its return back into primary family are met, or where it is being prepared for some other permanent form of care. All the family protection measures that are taken need to be in the child’s best interest. Once the child enters the alternative childcare system, it is necessary to make an effort for the child to leave the system as soon as possible, but if it remains there for a longer period of time, it is important to adequately prepare the child to leave the system.
