Abstract
Kako bih razumjeli Parlament i parlamentarnu vladu Engleske danas važno je znati temeljne povijesne činjenice njegovog nastanaka. Parlament je zakonodavno tijelo Engleske i primarna je institucija koja donosi zakone u ustavnoj monarhiji. Povijest pokazuje kako se parlament razvio kao odgovor na potrjebitosti vladajućeg monarha u zemlji, a vuče korijene iz najranijih sastanaka baruna i pučana iz 10. stoljeća. Današnji Parlament je dvodomno zakonodavno tijelo s Domom lordova i Donjim domom koje datira iz samih začetaka parlamenta u Engleskoj, no isti nisu uvijek bili odvojeni o čemu će se više pričati kroz ovaj završni rad. Za izradu rada korišteno je vlastito znanje te razna literatura (knjige, stručni članci), web izvori. U radu je korištena povijesna metoda gdje su iznesene činjenice o povijesnom nastanku i razvoju parlamenta u Engleskoj te metoda kompilacije.
Abstract (english)
In order to understand the English Parliament today, it is important to know the basic historical facts of its origin. Parliament is the legislature of England and is the primary law-making institution in a constitutional monarchy. History shows how parliament evolved in response to the needs of the monarch in the country, and as the very beginning the earliest meetings of barons and commoners from the 10th century are cited. Today's Parliament is a legislative body with two houses, the House of Lords and the House of Commons dating back to the very beginnings of Parliament in England, but they have not always been separate which will be discussed more in this final paper. My own knowledge and various literature (books, professional articles), web sources were used to create the paper. The paper uses the historical method where the facts about the historical origin and development of the parliament in England are presented and compilation method.
