The topic of my final pape ris the rights, duties and responsibilities od police officers. This paper consists od six sections: Introducion, police affairs and powers (police officers, police affairs, police power), police classifications and human rights (fundamental human rights, classification of police officers, appointment and dismissal of senior police officers), disciplinary liability of police officers (breaches of official duty, right to counsel and right to legal remedy, light breaches of official duty, severe breaches of official duty) and conclusion. A police officer is a civil servant of the ;inistry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia who is authorized to perform police duties by applying police powers. The regulations on civil servants, general labor regulations and collective agreements shall apply to the position, rights, obligations and responsibilities of police officers of the Ministry of the Interior, unless otherwise provided by the Law on Police and regulations adopted on the basis thereof.The basis of policing and conduct can and must only be the law. A police officers is liable for breach of official duty if he does not perform the entrusted tasks and duties conscientiously, professionally and within the prescribed deadlines, if he does not comply with the Constitution, laws, other regulations and rules of conduct during or outside service when damaging the reputation of the service.
