Private international law can be defined as a system of rules governing internationally marked private law situations. Renvoi is an institute of private international law which, on the basis of the conflict rule lex fori, refers to the entire applicable foreign law, and not only to the substantive one, which includes the conflict rules of that foreign law. By applying the renvoi method, two situations can arise: returning to the application of the original law by the conflict-of-law rule of the applicable law on the basis of a link, which usually leads to the application of the substantive substantive law, or referring to the application of third country law. The method of regulating situations with an international character, ie the renvoi method, was first accepted in French court practice and today is today an accepted method in a number of states, mainly for regulating the status issues of natural persons, and sometimes for determining the personal statute of legal persons. Significant differences stand out in different legal orders, so differences also stand out in private international law systems. The reason for the emergence of the renvoi theory is precisely the diversity of the links of conflict rules with the same category of binding and also represents one of its basic assumptions.
