Domestic violence is a form of violence that is present in almost every country in the world. Each country, in accordance with their cultural and social values approaches to this problem in its own way so that this problem can be suppressed in every possible way. Countries of the Western world tend to regulate human rights, fundamental freedom, rights of woman and children and promote gender equality by Constitution, International Treaties, Conventions, Declaration, Laws and other regulations and enactments to make this form of violence increasingly less present in the family. In Republic of Croatia this problem is becoming more and more real and in recent years it takes on a lot of changes in the Criminal Law, Family Law and family violence Protection Act. Gouverment seeks to protect family members who have suffered any form of family violence and they are trying to provide them with legal help and security in chasing their human rights. Thing that should be emphasized in this type of violence is that it is a challenge for all countries of the world because they need to achieve a balanced system in accordance with the values and principles that the family is a place of community, refuge and security. Can we say that a family in which domestic violence is present is becoming an increasingly dangerous place to raise a child whose behavior may manifest itself through a series of future continued forms of violence and delinquency?
