Abstract
Gledajući kroz povijest od 16. stoljeća pa do danas u pogledu dječjih prava došlo je do velikog napretka. Djeca koja su smatrana objektima i stvarima svojih roditelja danas imaju mogućnost donositi odluke te u mnogome sudjelovati u pogledu ostvarivanja svojih prava. Najzaslužniji dokument koji je promijenio svijest ljudi u pogledu dječjih prava je Konvencija o pravima djeteta iz 1989. godine koju su prihvatile sve zemlje svijeta te uskladile svoja zakonodavstva s njom. U Republici Hrvatskoj ona je na snazi od 1991. godine. Fenomen siromaštva prisutan je u cijelome svijetu i njime se bave stručnjaci svih profila. Iako Konvencija, Ustav i zakoni jamče svoj djeci jednaka prava, djeca koja odrastaju u siromaštvu uskraćena su za mnoga od njih. Odrastanje u teškim uvjetima života, narušeno zdravstveno stanje, nemogućnost obrazovanja, zlostavljanje i zanemarivanje, samo su neki od problema s kojima se susreću.
Abstract (english)
Looking through history from the 16th century until today, there has been great progress in terms of children's rights. Children who were considered objects and belongings of their parents today have the opportunity to make decisions and participate in many ways in terms of exercising their rights. The most meritorious document that changed people's awareness regarding children's rights is the Convention on the Rights of the Child from 1989, which was accepted by all countries of the world and harmonized their legislation with it. In the Republic of Croatia, it has been in force since 1991. The phenomenon of poverty is present all over the world and is dealt with by experts of all profiles. Although the Convention, the Constitution and laws guarantee all children equal rights, children who grow up in poverty are deprived of many of them. Growing up in difficult living conditions, impaired health, inability to get an education, abuse and neglect are just some of the problems they face.
