Abstract
Europska zajednica je od svojih početaka bitan naglasak stavljala na poljoprivrednu proizvodnju. Kroz program Zajedničke poljoprivredne politike potiče se poljoprivredna proizvodnja u zemljama članicama. Zajednička poljoprivredna politika počiva na dva stupa – izravnim potporama i ruralnom razvoju. Njezin je cilj osigurati dovoljne količine kvalitetne hrane na europskom tržištu, poticati održivu proizvodnju, štititi okoliš i smanjiti utjecaj poljoprivredne proizvodnje na klimatske promjene. Kroz ruralni razvoj potiče se razvoj seoskih područja i ostanak ljudi na njima. Štite se tradicionalni načini proizvodnje, a poljoprivrednim i prehrambenim proizvodima se dodjeljuju oznake o zaštiti izvornosti i podrijetla. Donose se smjernice za sljedeće proračunsko razdoblje i postavljaju ciljevi koji se u njemu žele ostvariti.
Abstract (english)
Since it was established, European Union placed a great accent on agricultural production. Through the program of common agricultural policy (CAP) the agricultural production is encouraged in the countries, members of the European UnionL. Common agricultural production stands on two pillars – direct payments to farmers and support of rural development. It aims to secure enough amount of a good quality food on European market, to encourage sustainable production, to protect environment and to reduce the influence of the agricultural production on climate changes. Through rural development, development of rural areas across the EU and people staying to live in them is supported. Traditional ways of production are protected, and agricultural and food products are awarded by protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI), so to protect origin and originality of food. Guidelines for next budget period are brought and aims which are going to be accomplished in that period are set.
