Abstract
Rodiljni dopust se odnosi na plaćeni dopust ženama koje u određenom trenutku svog radnog staža rode dijete. Od zemlje do zemlje situacija sa rodiljnim dopustom je različita. U nekim zemljama je stanje bolje, pa rodilja ima veće mogućnosti, odnosno veći postotak plaće kojeg dobiva na rodiljnom dopustu i veće vremensko razdoblje koje može biti na dopustu. S druge strane, u nekim zemljama stanje nije dobro pa se rodilja vrlo brzo mora vratiti na posao, a dok se ne vrati, postotak kojeg dobiva je jako mali ili je rodiljni dopust čak u potpunosti neplaćen. U gotovo svim razvijenim zemljama se u posljednjih nekoliko godina želi utjecati na to da i očevi ravnopravno sudjeluju u odgoju od samih početaka djetetovog života, pa se i njima daje prilika da ostanu kod kuće, odnosno da uzmu roditeljski dopust. Ovo je relativno nova ''pojava'' u društvu pa ni rezultati još nisu toliko dobri, ali s vremenom se ipak događa neka vrsta napretka.
Abstract (english)
Maternity leave refers to paid leave for women who have a baby at some point in their employment. The situation with maternity leave varies from country to country. In some countries, the situation is better, so the maternity ward has more opportunities, that is, a higher percentage of the salary she receives on maternity leave and a longer period of time that can be on leave. In some countries, on the other hand, the situation is not good, so the maternity ward must return to work very quickly, and until she returns, the percentage she receives is either very low or maternity leave is even completely unpaid. In almost all developed countries, in recent years, it has been sought to influence that fathers participate equally in upbringing from the very beginning of a child's life, giving them the opportunity to stay home, or to take parental leave. This is a relatively new '' phenomenon '' in society and the results are not so good yet, but over time there is some progress.
